Q. What is the CEMT continuing education (30 credit units)?
A. Continuing education equivalent to 30 Credit Units is one of the requirements for renewal as stated in DOH Administrative Order 2010-0034 (see below). Under AWSA, Pisil is being offered as a 30-credit unit course (see free video below).

Q. What are the requirements for the renewal of an expired DOH massage license?

A. DOH Administrative Order 2010-0034, Section 4.2 Renewal of Certificate of Registration, subsection 4.2.2, states the following requirements shall be presented when applying for renewal of Certificate of Registration:

1. Health Certificate

2. Current Professional Tax Receipt

3. Current Community Tax Receipt

4. Receipt of payment of registration (DOH Regional Office)

5.Certificate of Attendance to Continuing Education training (30 Credit Units) conducted by any DOH Accredited Training Institution

Q. How do we earn 30 Credit Units?

A. Yes. The DOH Training Institution accreditation number of AWSA is TI-11-10-0016.

Q. What happens if I fail to renew my massage license after five (5) years?

A. DOH Administrative Order 201-0034, Section 4.3, Suspension of Revocation of Certificate of Registration, subsection G states that a massage license shall be rendered invalid for “Failure to revalidate the Certificate of Registration for at least five (5) years.”

Q. Can I still practice massage even if my license has expired and deemed invalid?

No. A.O. 2010-0034, Section 5, Practice of Massage clearly, “No one is allowed to practice  massage as a profession in the Phillipines unless he/she is a holder of a valid certificate of registration issued by the CEMT and approved by the Secretary of Health.”
